More Recording

Well, we did some more recording last night. Just vocals. It was a very productive, if exhausting, night. Pictured is the hard drive on which all the rock lives. It's a 34 gig ultrawide scsi drive, for the nerds out there. I did a lot of my vocals, except for the Springsteen cover and the one song that doesn't have lyrics yet. Steve sang his ass off, really blew the doors off of Kevin Spacey, which is fast becoming my favorite song. Danny did some singing, too, and it sounds effing great. We were without Karl last night, which is something we're going to have to get used to for a while, as he approaches fatherhood. But he is there in spirit even if he's not present, keeping our standards as high as possible. What can I say? I was so excited last night, I couldn't stop listening to the songs. I just kept hitting the spacebar and turning knobs. When I got home, I couldn't relax, so instead I finished watching Evil Dead. Then I could sleep.

It seems to be our fate to work there - Elaborate Systems was (partly) recorded there, NinjaSpiderHorse was recorded there, and the last 2 songs we recorded before we broke up were recorded there.
The songs we're recording, heretofore unheard, are titled thusly:
Fireflies
Kevin Spacey
Airstream Trailer
The Arsonist
We Are the Radio
We're having fun, not taking it too seriously, and we have no idea what we're doing with these tracks, but we're recording them nontheless.

Happenings

It's going to be a busy time for Squeaky. We have this show coming up at 1982 (you're coming, aren't you?) with Nervous Systems and Two Finger Suicide, where we hope to debut 2 new songs (Airstream Trailer and a Springsteen cover). We're also going to attempt to record five or six songs at an undisclosed location. Why all the hubbub, bub, you might ask. Well, Karl and his wife Kris are fixin' to have a baby (it's true! I attended the baby shower myself!), and we're trying to get a lot of work out of Karl before he disappears off the face of the planet.
Other than that, if you click this thingamajiggy, you should be able to see video of Harry and Steve playing Horsehead Nebula at Indigo Green Store's 1 year anniversary party. There were a lot of kids, it was awesome despite the fact that Danny and Karl couldn't be there. While you're in the area, you can watch us play Kramer.
Stay tuned for details of the recording.
