Friday's Show

Well, we don't have any proof for you, gentle reader, but we played great on Friday.
Some nights of music just work better than others, and for some unknowable reason, Friday at 1982 was killer. To wit:

Crashpad (playing with a fill-in drummer who had only practiced with them once!) threw down, as usual. Brian brought the rock moves—he played guitar behind his head, and ripped a couple of solos from the floor.

Chicken Lüv was awesome. There were several moments where the hair on the back of my neck stood up, in a good way. The three-part harmonies were kicking at various points. This was apparently Rosalind's (bass) last show with the band, which is a sad thing. And Kristen hit it hard, as usual.

Eight Track Automatic were a man down (bass player was a no-show), but you wouldn't have known it from the decibel level. Dave was rocking 2 cabinets, both of which could have caused permanent hearing damage by themselves. The combination was bowel-loosening, to say the least.

We had never seen The Great Takeback, but we enjoyed it. The gear was pristine, the guitar textures were dense. Unfortunately, we had to listen to a lot of it from the sidewalk as we prepped our gear.

How were we? Well, pretty much like always, just more so. Dual Mono has a new, spooky guitar part, courtesy of Mower. Free was fun. Karl, despite being sick, screamed his ass off, and a good time was had by all.

Oh, and there was a dude who rode a skateboard on the floor during the show. Pretty cool!
