Well, June 18 is coming closer every day. Duh. Did I mention that Squeaky is playing its first show in 2 years at Common Grounds, mere days before they close their doors? It will be another bittersweet experience on that particular stage, having played the Covered Dish's last show on the same stage years ago.
Anyway, we thank Common Grounds immensely for the support that they have shown us over the years. Nigel, Jay, Jason, Derron, Magarelli, and many more have been ultrakind to Squeaky through the years. Both Squeaky and CGs had multiple lineup changes, but their core has always been the same, and we thank them for that.
At this point, we're practicing as much as we can for the show, trying to dust off old songs and just remember what the fuck is going on. Muscle memory is going a long way for us, many of these songs have been in our minds for greater than ten years, and we often realize that sometimes the less we try to remember, the easier it is to remember. Right?
Danny is a badass, currently playing in a ton of bands and practicing with all of them in preparation for Common Grounds-related activities. The guy is a monster. And you should see Karl. Still able to jump around like a crazy person while flawlessly executing totally difficult parts. Asshole.
